To help provide the progressive service that today’s modern commercial poultry enterprises demand, Poultry Health Services, Minster Poultry and Gamebird Vets, and Retford Poultry Partnership have joined forces under the one name Poultry Health Services (PHS).

The team of leading poultry vets, laboratory teams and experienced practice support is led by Stuart Hedley, Commercial Director and Sara Perez DVM MSc Cert PMP MRCVS, Veterinary Director of Poultry.

Stuart started his career spending twelve years in the RAF as an Avionics Engineer before transitioning into Telecoms and HR / L&D as first, technical trainer then more laterally as head of L&OD for Europe for a Japanese manufacturer. From there, he joined the world of professional services where he has spent the past 11 years of his career beginning as a consultant in the UK before taking leadership roles in the UK, USA and in the latter part of his career, predominantly in Asia, his last being as Managing Director for South East Asia region. He has a home just outside Edinburgh though is based out of York during the week. He has just completed a degree specialising in Psychology & Business which will afford him more time to enjoy holidays abroad, especially walking holidays though his passion for walking sees him and his wife frequenting the Yorkshire Wolds at weekends.

Sara Perez

DVM MSc Cert PMP MRCVS

Sara qualified as a vet from the University of Barcelona in 1998. She obtained a Master in Science from the University of Bristol and a Certificate in Poultry Medicine and Production from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London. She worked for a feed mill company and a Poultry Practice in the UK before joining Minster vets in 2003. She became a Director at Minster in 2010 and a Director at Poultry Health Services in 2016. Sara has been a poultry Consultant in a number of Countries, has written numerous articles for scientific poultry magazines and chairs poultry meetings on a regular basis. She describes herself as a “hands on” person and is involved in the day to day running of the Practice.
